B Clinic

About This Project

Project location: Brisbane QLD

B Clinic is a medical and cosmetic clinic based in the Queen Street medical hub in Brisbane. The concept direction for this space was luxe, minimal and modern with a boutique aesthetic. It featured the use of deep navy-blue colour ways, curved joinery detailing and key feature lighting. The overarching aesthetic was drawn from the curves and simplicity of the B Clinic brand and logo.

The front of house layout consisted of an open plan reception area that included a curved reception counter, open curved product shelving unit, velvet upholstered waiting bench seat and feature beauty bar. The reception counter front was cladded in a gloss kit kat finger tile and the countertop was finished in a subtle grey and white solid surface finish. A deep blue laminate was used for the beauty bar joinery top and cupboards below. The kit kat tiles were continued onto the splashback of the beauty bar and a steel blue paint finish was applied behind the mirrors for added effect. Behind the back reception wall, a hallway was integrated to direct staff to the recessed kitchenette and storage cupboard for staff use. Two cosmetic consult rooms were integrated to branch off the main hallway. Each room consisted of a desk area for staff as well as a treatment bed for customers, built in storage and a custom joinery unit for treatment services. The joinery units towards the back of the rooms were finished in a deep blue laminate and had a feature curved arch routed out of the bottom joinery portion to reflect the curved forms within the overarching concept. The storage cupboards within the rooms were clad in VJ timber panelling.

A polished terrazzo concrete with varying flecks of aggregate was the selected flooring treatment throughout both the FOH and BOH space. The walls were finished in a crisp white or deep blue paint finish and key walls & cupboards were cladded in VJ timber panelling to add texture to the room. Feature brass finished pendant lighting and wall sconce lighting fixtures were specified within the reception and waiting area to highlight key customer touch points. Recessed LED lighting was also used to wash down the joinery splashbacks within the consult rooms and illuminate the workspace.
